Share

Pete Buttigieg filled in for Jimmy Kimmel last Thursday night, where he interviewed Sir Patrick Stewart, star of CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Picard. Despite hosting the show in a nearly empty theater due to government and CDC regulations around the COVID-19 (aka Coronavirus) pandemic, Kimmel Live! saw a 30% jump in ratings.

According to The Wrap: Call it a Buttigieg Bump, more people staying home, intrigue about no studio audience or a (likely) combination of all three, “JKL” jumped 30% in demo ratings from the previous Thursday evening.

Here’s how the main late-night shows stacked up in the key demo:

  1. Fallon: 0.43
  2. Kimmel (Buttigieg): 0.39
  3. Colbert 0.38

And in total viewers:

  1. Colbert: 3.287 million

  2. Kimmel: 2.262 million

  3. Fallon: 2.184 million.
