KEITH RICHARDS quit smoking.

AIDS Let’s Kick ASS (AIDS Survivor Syndrome) founder and HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day founder Tez Anderson speaks out on NMAC’s decision to change the United States Conference on AIDS to the United States Conference on HIV.

Anderson says that it wasn’t the name change itself that offended him, so much as NMAC Executive Director Paul Kawata’s reasoning in the email. “He just added gas to the fire of stigma,” Anderson said. “If they had just said they were changing it to be more inclusive, it might not be as offensive.” Anderson said that by getting rid of the word “AIDS,” Kawata and NMAC are “ignoring those of us living with AIDS.”

Anderson has been living with AIDS since 1993. “I’ve seen the despair of people who have survived AIDS, watching our history being erased in front of our eyes,” he added. “As if what happened in the ’80s and ’90s does not matter, that it’s in the past where it should be and we’re moving to End the Epidemic and we’re going to ignore the 7,000 people a year who die of AIDS.”

He added, “I see it as divisive and dismissive of a large population.”

BBC The One Show featured the Jonas Brothers where Nick Jonas says about their new tour, “I think that we thought that it was truly over.”

PICARD A provocative and cogent theory by my friend Dekker Dreyer on what’s going on on the new CBS All Access Star Trek show: “My guess: Romulans are basically Cylons. They’re not ‘genetic cousins’ of Vulcans, they were the Vulcan military robots that rebelled.”

Mind. Blown.

Oh and here’s a gratuitous picture of the sexy Romulan operative aboard the Borg cube, Narek:

MASTURBATION can boost your immune system and help it thrive according to Big Think. “A study conducted by the Department of Medical Psychology at the University Clinic of Essen (in Germany) showed similar results. A group of 11 volunteers were asked to participate in a study that would look at the effects of orgasm through masturbation on the white blood cell count and immune system. During this experiment, the white blood cell count of each participant was analyzed through measures that were taken 5 minutes before and 45 minutes after reaching a self-induced orgasm. The results confirmed that sexual arousal and orgasm increased the number of white blood cells, particularly the natural killer cells that help fight off infections. The findings confirm that our immune system is positively affected by sexual arousal and self-induced orgasm and promote even more research into the positive impacts of sexual arousal and orgasm.”

NATIONAL BLACK HIV AWARENESS DAY Emil Wilbeking writes on Instagram, “Everybody’s journey is individual. If you fall in love with a boy, you fall in love with a boy. The fact that many Americans consider it a disease says more about them than it does about homosexuality,” JamesBaldwin.

A HEATWAVE hit Antartica on Friday. CNN reports, “The temperature was nearly 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18.3 Celsius) at Argentina’s Esperanza research station, scientists from the country’s meteorological agency said.

That surpassed the previous record of 63.5 degrees Fahrenheit (17.5 Celsius) set on March 24, 2015 at the same location. Temperature records from Esperanza date back to 1961.

VAN JONES stopped by SiriusXM Studios to sit down with Business Radio host Alan Fleischmann of Leadership Matters to discuss leadership in action, being authentic in politics, the need for more than politicians to bring significant change to the world and more. Van talks about staying woke in today’s world and shares his ability to bring people of all ideologies together, telling host Alan Fleischmann how to keep communities safe and crime off the streets is to focus on “counseling, mental health, yoga, diet, hugs, love, mentorship…  you could have much greater community safety and at fraction of the price if that’s what you were focused on.”

“We have to have other forms of leadership that are the Legos that help everything click together, and calls the people in office “professional piñatas,” who get beat up every day.”

“I think one thing in politics people get wrong is they think in order to cooperate with you I first have to convert you… I’ve got to turn you into a republican or I’ve got to turn you into a democrat.”

THE INHERITANCE‘s writer Matthew Lopez tells the New York Times what he wanted to say in The Inheritance, and what he didn’t: “I wanted to write about addiction and alcoholism — a disease I have struggled with, and an epidemic that plagues our community just as perniciously as H.I.V./AIDS did 30 years ago. I also wanted to write about sex: how it can be used as a vehicle for pleasure and intimacy, but how it is also used as a tool to cauterize pain. Such examinations run counter to our current desire for affirmative representation. But avoidance of uncomfortable truths is not the role of the artist. Healing is impossible if you don’t understand the cause of the injury.”

MARVEL PHASE 5 Superhero Buzz’s Mikey Sutton is circulating the rumour that Marvel president Kevin Feige is lining up an X-Men character to be the villain in Captain Marvel 2. This character will specifically be Rogue, who was played by Anna Paquin in four X-Men films from 2000 to 2014.  Rogue would be the first X-Men character officially introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.
