Writer Nick Lehman’s Gay Father-Son Comedy Show Coming to NBC

Share

Deadline has reported that gay comedian and regulation hottie Nick Lehmann’s TV series Like Son, Like Father is in development at NBC.

Written by Lehmann, Like Son, Like Father, centers on Nick, an out and proud gay man, who finds himself in the unenviable position of assuming the role of his newly outed father’s gay mentor and new roommate.

Lehmann executive produces with I’m Not Crazy, Forever’s  creator Hubbard. Universal TV is the studio.

In the last four months, Lehmann has acquired over 90k followers across his social platforms from his comedic videos and tweets, totaling over 100k followers and millions of views. He co-created, wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the YouTube series I’m Not Crazy. Lehmann graduated from Northwestern’s University prestigious theatre and writing program and is a multi-hyphenate — he writes, acts, directs, and is a comedian. The project reunites him with Hubbard, with whom he worked on Forever as Showrunner’s Assistant. Lehmann is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.

Out magazine recently said of Lehmann: “his life has changed since his screaming video went viral. “Someone in my apartment building who I’ve never met popped out of a corner and scared me!” he says. “It’s absolutely insane!” He’s gotten the same treatment from random people at brunch.

That’s not the only change. With his new deal, Lehmann is set to create, write and produce his first television show With Like Son, Like Father,a 30-minute sitcom. But, he does have some credentials: Lehman co-created, wrote, directed, produced and starred in a Youtube series “I’m Not Crazy” and has videos with millions of views all across social media.”

Out spoke with Nick about going viral, connecting with fans over laughter and love, and his new show. Which you can read here.
