14-year-old Martin (Villads Bøye) is about to be confirmed when his mother dies of cancer. The weeks leading up to his confirmation are difficult and turbulent, as Martin’s father and older brother are distraught and Martin must try to keep the family together. In addition, he must deal with his feelings, sexuality and friendships in particular with his best friend Hans.

It’s 1976, music and hormones are in the air in a provincial setting  where the famed Danish liberation of porn has the grownups focused on other things.

Speed Walking [Danish: Kapgang] is a Danish drama film directed by Niels Arden Oplev originally released in 2014, based on the novel of the same name by Morten Kirkskov.

After amassing numerous awards on the international LGBT film festival circuit, QTTV which has dedicated itself to bringing queer cinema out of the closet, released the moving short on its YouTube channel for free last May.
