Actor Tom Holland spiked fans’ adrenaline Friday for making more Spider-Man movies. This followed the announcement that Spider-Man: No Way Home received three Golden Tomato awards from the review aggregating site RottenTomatoes where it is now among the best reviewed movies of all time with a nearly perfect score.
In a video he recorded for Rotten Tomatoes he thanked fans and says he hopes they can make more: “again, again, and again.”

“Guys, Spider-Man: No Way Home has received three Golden Tomatoes, so I just wanted to say a massive thank you on behalf of everyone from Sony and Marvel, the critics, the fans who have shown so much love and respect and support for our movies,” Holland said in the video shared by RottenTomatoes. “It means the world and hopefully, we can do it again and again and again. But thank you, thank you, thank you. And we’ll see you soon.”

The current contract between Sony and Marvel Studios allows one more appearance for a Spider-Man in a Marvel Studios film that is not an outright Spider-Man movie.
Sony chairman Tom Rothman said the partnership which allows Sony and Marvel to make movies with Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been great for both studios. “It’s reciprocal. So we lend one, and they lend one, and that’s how Benedict [Cumberbatch] is in this movie,” Rothman explained to ComicBook.com at the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“So we have one more ‘lend back’ that’s committed. But the thing that I can say, and this actually the accurate scoop on this, which is that the two companies have a terrific working relationship. I think it’s a mutual hope that that would continue. But there really isn’t anything definitive at this moment, because the truth of the matter is, we gotta ride [Spider-Man: No Way Home] and see what happens.”
Since then they have announced that Holland would appear as Spider-Man again in a movie that would be part one of a trilogy that followed the story arc of the Sam Raimi Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies.

Back in October, Holland told Entertainment Weekly that No Way Home “No Way Home marks Holland’s third solo Spidey appearance, and story-wise, the actor calls it a “conclusion” to his trilogy, wrapping up the narrative he and Watts first introduced in 2017’s Homecoming. “We were all treating [No Way Home] as the end of a franchise, let’s say,” he adds. “I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you’d be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”

In December Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told the New York Times: “He’s going to show up sometime. The when and the where, of course, is the fun part — and the part that we don’t talk about.”
Former Sony head and No Way Home producer, Amy Pascal asked by the Times What about the next stand-alone Spider-Man movie? Amy, you said last month that you and Kevin — Sony and Disney — are going to collaborate on three more, which seemed to catch the studios by surprise, said: We’re producers, so we always believe everything will work out. I love working with Kevin. We have a great partnership, along with Tom Rothman, who runs Sony and has been instrumental, a great leader with great ideas. I hope it lasts forever.”
That sounds like a classic Hollywood walk back.
FEIGE Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home [the previous Spider-Man movie, in 2019]. That will not be occurring this time.
