The $250,0000 SYNERGY Scholarship for LGBTQ+ Students Is Open for Submissions

Inspired by his own coming out story at the age of 13, GT’s Living Foods founder and LA Native, the King of Kombucha, GT Dave is excited to announce the SYNERGY Scholarship.

Created in June 2021 in honor of Pride month, the Scholarship is now open to current California-based high school seniors who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

The Scholarship is designed to empower educational opportunities within this community while encouraging aspiring businesspeople to achieve their dreams.

The Synergy Scholarship will fund a $250,000 commitment to help winners pay for higher education over the next 5 years.

Dave is launching this scholarship so that he can give back to members of the LGBTQ+ youth and lift them up to their full potential.  He is proud to support LGBTQ+ students on their journey and encourage their entrepreneurial passions.

“I believe young people are the driving force of change, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. Ever since coming out as gay in my youth and starting my company as a teenager, I’ve always wondered what it might have been like to have had an LGBTQ+ mentor back then. With the Synergy Scholarship, I am dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ youth and helping to mobilize their entrepreneurial dreams,” says Dave. “When we support each other in the LGBTQ+ community, we can drown-out that voice and affirm that we are all loved, all special, and all our ideas matter. I am looking forward to seeing all the applications from the next generation of LGBTQ+ makers and creators.”
