Pete Buttigieg and Andrew Yang Join Forces to Propose Innovative Ways to Ensure America’s Future

Share

Pete Buttigieg officially announced that he and fellow former Democratic Presidential Primary candidate Andrew Yang, were joining forces. “The Yang Gang” and “Team Pete” were indeed combining forces hoping to move policy makers to be more forward thinking. In fact, Wang’s signature talking point, a guaranteed Universal Basic Income of $1,000 a month, which was widely derided by almost every candidate, in effect became national policy when the enormity of the Coronavirus Pandemic’s huge economic toll became known.

Buttigieg wrote on Instagram: “So many of the issues @andrewyang2020 raised during his campaign have taken on new meaning in recent months, and we have a lot to catch up on, so I figured it’s time to officially bring #TeamPete and the #YangGang together (online, of course). Join us here tomorrow 5/7 at 4:30pm ET for an Instagram Live!”

Both Yang and Buttigieg are tech savvy and also know that technological innovations like robotic automation will virtually erase the service class. Yang calls the era we are living in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. “The fourth industrial revolution is now migrating from manufacturing workers to retail, call centers, transportation, as well as to white-collar workers like attorneys, pharmacists, and radiologists,” Yang warned at one point. “These are the problems that got Donald Trump elected, the fourth industrial revolution,” he explained at another.

Like Yang, Buttigieg has a solid understanding of the contemporary world and has raised questions as basic as why we haven’t updated the computer systems that run our nuclear silos and aircraft carriers which is  using technology that is over 60 years old and completely exposed to even a minor cyber attack.
