‘Right Now’ is the LGBT Suicide Awareness Anthem We Need: WATCH

Share

Singer/songwriter Matthew James dropped the official music video for “Right Now” The LGBTQ+ Suicide Awareness Anthem for Pride.

Lyrics: People who should have loved me / Couldn’t love me for who I was I got inside of a box/ One that would be acceptable / They prayed it was a phase / But they couldn’t pray enough Was so brutal to learn That their love was conditional

I felt so lonely and bitter / Does any of this sound familiar? /Right now, all you see if the dark

Right now, you don’t wanna feel your heart/ Right now, you think no one cares / Right now, life is so unfair/ Right now, you don’t wanna breathe Right now, I need you to listen to me/ Right now, you don’t wanna surrender/ But right now doesn’t last forever

I used to sleep around / ‘Cuz I had so much to prove I used to keep so quiet/ So I wouldn’t stand out too much / I’d denied every rumor / Thinking that would erase my truth/ Stood on the edge of pain / Believing it would end if I jumped

I felt so confused and little / Does any of this sound familiar? / Right now, all you see if the dark

Right now, you don’t wanna feel your heart / Right now, you think no one cares / Right now, life is so unfair / Right now, you don’t wanna breathe / Right now, I need you to listen to me / Right now, you don’t wanna surrender / But right now doesn’t last forever

Right now, you think you’re the only one who feels this way / Oh, it’s not true / I used to feel the same as you / Right now, you think you will never break free of these chains / Don’t believe that lie / No right now, don’t you say good bye

Right now, all you see if the dark / Right now, you don’t wanna feel your heart / Right now, you think no one cares / Right now, life is so unfair / Right now, you don’t wanna breathe / Right now, I need you to listen to me / Right now, you don’t wanna surrender / But right now doesn’t last forever It doesn’t last forever

No, it don’t last forever Don’t give up, don’t give up now
