Rick Ross On Being a Boss and His Beef with Kanye: WATCH

Share

Rick Ross talked to The Breakfast Club about how  survived having Covid and how he hustled during the pandemic and even wrote a book The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire.

It’s a breezy read that combines his experiences as a business owner (Wingstop), record label mogul (Maybach Music Group) and mega-rapper (from “Hustlin’” in 2006 to upcoming album “Richer Than I Ever Been”) with tips for success.

When the pandemic began Ross realized that the serious sickness he got while traveling in South Africa was Covid-19, “the fungus” as he called it. But he also got wise to what was up and realized that doing business in 2020 required a new outlook on life. “I have 20 current partnerships and people want to know, ‘Rozay, how did this happen?,’ especially when you wake up every day excited to do all of this,” Ross told Charlamagne Tha God, referring to himself by his nickname. “To me, the way we manage our time is the most valuable commodity.”

Ross recounts how he got into it with Kanye West who at the time had tweeted his presidential ambitions and who told Ross it was all just for publicity. “Tomorrow I might tweet that I don’t feel like being president anymore,” West is quoted as saying in the book. Ross was irritated by the ploy, as he writes, “All of this (expletive) was for attention, and it didn’t really matter if it was positive or negative attention because his brand grew either way. That’s why he liked Donald Trump. That’s why he loved the Kardashians. It all made sense now.”
