WHAT: Tune in to “YouTube Pride 2021,” today! The YouTube Originals multi-hour, star-studded livestream event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community through musical performances, giving challenges, special guests, live moments and much more kicks off today at 12pm PST | 8pm BST only on YouTube.

Celebrity emcees Elton John and David Furnish, Demi Lovato, Olly Alexander with Mawaan Rizwan, Trixie Mattel, and Daniel Howell will each host their Pride party from their respective YouTube channels and encourage viewers to to help the LGBTQ+ community by raising funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, The Trevor Project and akt. To further support the LGBTQ+ community, YouTube also launched the #GiveWithPride challenge earlier this month — a donation campaign that raised money for The Trevor Project, an organization committed to providing support, resources and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth. The fundraiser enlisted the help of YouTube Creators including PatrickStarr, Gigi Gorgeous, Elle of the Mills, The Fitness Marshall, Jackson Bird, Alannized, Jessie Paege, KingOfReads, and Jade Fox who each committed to doing an exciting stunt video to encourage donations. Those videos will debut during “YouTube Pride 2021.”

In addition to today’s livestream event, YouTubeGaming creators are coming together for a live Minecraft competition, “MCC Pride 2021” in partnership with The Trevor Project on Saturday, June 26 at 12 pm PST | 3 pm EST | 8pm BST. From Joey Graceffa, Smallishbeans, Vikkstar, SolidarityGaming, AyChristene to Dangthatsalongname, 40 gaming creators (10 teams of 4) from all around the world will livestream only on YouTube and compete in a series of Minecraft challenges with the goal of bringing awareness to mental health issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community. All donations from the livestream, including a $100,000 contribution on behalf of the winning team from YouTube Gaming, will benefit The Trevor Project.
