Marvel’s Massive ‘Empyre’ Crossover Centers Around Legacy Gay Superhero Hulkling

His father was the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell of the Kree Empire, perhaps their greatest hero. His mother was Princess Anelle, Dorekk VIII of the Skrull Empire. But after years of evading the clutches of both blood thirsty empires, fate will catch up with Teddy Altman aka Hulkling of The Young Avengers this April in Marvel Comics massive company wide crossover called Empyre.

The series is notable as this is the first time a major comic publisher has built what is typically their best selling crossover around a gay character.

Teddy is best known as a member of Young Avengers and longtime boyfriend (now fiancé) of Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan (his mother is Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch).

With the Kree and Skrull Empires now aligned after centuries of bloodthirsty war, only a man born of both worlds can lead them and how will this affect his engagement to Billy? Look out for Lords of Empyre: Emperor Hulkling, out in April to find out.
