To recap why it’s such a big deal that the X-Men’s Quicksilver is now in the MCU, we have to go back to 2019, when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox for $71.3 billion. At the time, 21st Century Fox contained the film studio 20th Century Fox (among other properties like the Fox TV network and National Geographic. They’re not important right now). 20th Century Fox had the rights to a huge chunk of Marvel characters, including the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. They made X-Men movies, Disney had Avengers movies, and never the twain could meet, legally.
And it wasn’t just me. According to CBR.com, the X-Men star has joined WandaVision in an unspecified role. Apparently, Peters landed the role late last year and filmed his scenes shortly after. Who could he be playing? Well, since WandaVision will be looking to open the multiverse, it’s quite possible that he’ll be reprising his X-Men role i.e. Peter. Then there will be two Quicksilvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Pietro is also rumoured to be returning to the franchise. Or, due to the change of hands after the deal between Fox and Disney and talks of recasting the X-Men characters, there’s a fair chance that Peters is playing a whole new character. That said, Peters as an actor is loved by all due to his performances in American Horror Story, Pose, American Animals, and Kick-Ass. So, Marvel fans are excited about the notion that he’s joining the franchise in any capacity. Check out the reactions here:
If its involved with the multiverse then that would be cool

Alternate universe Quicksilver would be cool considering the MCU pretty quickly dropped all mention of him post Age of Ultron, but it’s not really out of the question to assume he’s playing a new character entirely.
