TWEET OF THE DAY TOO This is straight fire.

NOTIFICATION Can you fucking imagine?

FBI For decades, the government kept a file on conspiracy theories about Kurt Cobain’s death. Here’s what’s in the newly released documents. Rolling Stone: the FBI plucked out its file on Cobain and made it available for the first time, shortly after it had done the same with paperwork on late mob boss Vito Genovese.

A mere 10 pages, the file is slim but intriguing. The centerpieces are two letters, sent from names that have been redacted, urging the Bureau to investigate Cobain’s 1994 death as a murder, rather than suicide. “Millions of fans around the world would like to see the inconsistencies surrounding his death cleared up once and for all,” reads one, typed-out, from September 2003. That letter also cites director Nick Broomfield’s Kurt & Courtney doc as an example of similar skepticism.

The Cobain file may not be as salacious, but it’s a reminder that the FBI’s interest in collecting files on musicians didn’t stop during the classic-rock era: The Man had his alternative side, too.

People Magazine says: Pete Davidson is sharing his thoughts on Elon Musk‘s upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live, after the Tesla CEO had dinner with the show’s cast earlier this week. On The Breakfast Club Thursday, Davidson, 27, said he doesn’t “understand” why Musk’s hosting gig this Saturday has garnered controversy.

“We didn’t discuss it at all because we’re all just like … I just don’t understand why this is the dude everyone’s so freaked out about,” Davidson said when asked if they talked about the controversy at dinner. “I was like, ‘What did he do? He’s just like, a really wealthy businessman that makes, like, nerd s—.’ I don’t know. He’s really nice. I’m excited.” As for whether any of the cast members are upset about the choice to make Musk a host, Davidson said, “Nobody that I f— with.”

“Everybody’s kind of been like, ‘Yo, who’s the guy that’s so pissed off?’ ‘Cause we’re on a group text, so we’re all just like, ‘I don’t know,'” he said. “So, yeah, we’re all excited and really don’t understand the controversy.”

REMEMBERING Gary Cooper. Photographer and bon vivant Bruce LaBruce wrote on Twitter: Handsome, bisexual Hollywood leading man Gary Cooper was BOTD in 1901 and died in 1961 at the age of 60. The strapping, well-endowed 6’3″ Montana lad was first kept by silent film star Rod La Rocque, then by well-endowed, bisexual business magnate and movie producer Howard Hughes.

MOOD Real talk.

NUMBER ONE There wasn’t any original series Netflix or other leading streaming service launched in April that could match the audience levels on Disney+ for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, even though it debuted back on March 19. Variety reports, ““FAWS” was viewed by TVision panel members nearly 40 times as much as the average TV series the analytics firm measured in April. That suggests the new Marvel series last month grabbed a bigger audience than anticipated April-debuting Netflix and Amazon titles including “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me” and “Them,” respectively.

The hype around “FAWS” can partly be attributed to how it takes place following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” which until recently held the record for highest-grossing movie of all time.  But part of the show’s appeal is also due to its social commentary. Variety senior entertainment writer Adam B. Vary in March wrote about “Why ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Is So Pointed About Race, Nationalism and the World Today.”

I’m not crying. You are!
