Latest Episode of ‘Young Justice’ Reveals Aquaman is Queer

Share

ONE THEME that seems to run through part two of season three of DC Universe’s Young Justice is their awakening or awakened sexuality.

First, in the last episode we saw Harper Row land a kiss on Halo while they talked on the beach in Happy Harbor.

In the latest episode, entitled “Quiet Moments,” Kaldur’ahm aka Aqualad who has now taken on the role of Aquaman, returns to Atlantis to bring the white haired, water breathing meta-teen (who is clearly DC fan fave character Dolphin) the team rescued from The Reach. After he casts a translation spell letting her speak with other Atlanteans underwater, they appear to flirt, especially when he’s clearly hiding something from King Orin aka Author Curry aka the original Aquaman and his parents. Originally it appears that he’s hiding what his covert team and the League are doing, but at the end of the episode we see him kissing Garth.

Garth was the original Aqualad and a founding member of the Teen Titans in the comics who later took on the name Tempest. It’s been revealed that Kaldur had previously been in a relationship with Tula aka Aquagirl from the Teen Titans, who was in that iteration, Garth’s girlfriend and fiancee for many years.
