According to Animal Rights Activist group PETA (People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals), “The animal rights organization spoke out on Thursday and attacked Bieber, 25, for his recent decision to purchase the expensive Savannah kittens, whom he named Sushi and Tuna, claiming that the singer does not “care” about helping animals.

“Baby, baby, baby, nooooooo,” PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange tells PEOPLE. “Justin Bieber could inspire his fans around the world to save a life by adopting a cat from a local animal shelter — rather than fueling the dangerous demand for hybrid cats, contributing to the animal overpopulation crisis, and proving that when it comes to helping animals, his stance so far is ‘I don’t care.’”

Bieber has responded to Peta’s claims, telling the group that they can ‘suck it’, as he stresses they should ‘focus on real problems’. ‘Ur tripping because I want a specific kind of cat?’ he wrote in a statement on Instagram stories. ‘U weren’t tripping when I got my dog Oscar and he wasn’t a rescue… every pet we get must be a rescue?

“Ur tripping because I want a specific kind of cat? U weren’t tripping when I got my dog Oscar and he wasn’t a rescue,” Bieber continued, referring to the pet that he and Hailey Bieber got in December.
