Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot dropped the new poster for Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman. In the poster she wears armor that resembles the Athena/eagle motif from Alex Ross’ Ragnarök for the DC Universe, Kingdom Come.
“One…year..from…TODAY,” Patty said on Twitter, teasing the June 5, 2020 release date.
“Although all of us at Warner Brothers won’t be seeing you at SDCC – Hall H this year. We are so excited for what’s to come,” Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot herself said in an Instagram post. “So until then here’s a little gift from us to you…”
The rainbow colors in the background, coupled with Diana’s gay icon status had gay fans excited that it was a nod to gay pride.
