Just Looking at Wonder Woman’s new Movie Poster Might Make You Gayer

Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot dropped the new poster for Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman. In the poster she wears armor that resembles the Athena/eagle motif from Alex Ross’ Ragnarök for the DC Universe, Kingdom Come.

WW’s armor from Kingdom Come by Alex Ross.

“One…year..from…TODAY,” Patty said on Twitter, teasing the June 5, 2020 release date.

“Although all of us at Warner Brothers won’t be seeing you at SDCC – Hall H this year. We are so excited for what’s to come,” Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot herself said in an Instagram post. “So until then here’s a little gift from us to you…”

The rainbow colors in the background, coupled with Diana’s gay icon status had gay fans excited that it was a nod to gay pride.

“This is the gayest poster I’ve ever seen, Wonder Woman insinuates amazons are Bi in the first movie, and the second movie releases during Pride next year.”

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters nationwide June 5, 2020. Directed by Patty Jenkins, it stars Gal Gadot as our titular hero, Chris Pine returning as Steve Trevor (yeah we known he died!), and Kristen Wiig as Dr. Barbara Minerva aka WW’s chief nemesis, the Cheetah.
