The Pink Lens wrote on their Instagram: Legendary French movie star and heartthrob Gaspard Ulliel has died, aged 37. The double César winner’s biggest and most acclaimed roles were as gay characters in It’s Only The End Of The World.
He played a gay man dying of AIDS in the 1980s – and Saint Laurent ???????? – in which he played the titular role in the biopic of gay fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. Dying after a collision on the ski slopes of Savoie, the actor is the current face of Chanel’s worldwide aftershave campaign. He rose to international stardom as Hannibal Lector in Hannibal Rising ???????? and is one of the leads in upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight ????????. Starring opposite Audrey Tautou in A Very Long Engagement ???????? in 2005, he won the Most Promising Actor César, before winning Best Actor in 2017 for It’s Only The End Of The World ???????? opposite Marion Cotillard and Léa Seydoux and directed by Queer Cinema icon Xavier Dolan.

CNN: French actor Gaspard Ulliel, best known for playing Hannibal Lecter in “Hannibal Rising,” has died at the age of 37 after a skiing accident in southeastern France. “Gaspard Ulliel grew up with cinema and cinema grew up with him. They loved each other madly,” French Prime Minister Jean Castex tweeted Wednesday.
