IT’S THAT MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR The Perseid Meteor Shower will be most visible in the early morning hours before dawn, according to NASA officials (3 a.m. is a good time, and you should be able to see them until the sun rises at about 6:10 a.m.).

NIGHTWING WAS TRENDING ON TWITTER Last night and DC Comics fans went bonkers thinking it meant the character was getting his own film or TV show. So why was Nightwing trending on Twitter? Because high-flying WWE superstar Ricochet turned up to the promotion’s SummerSlam event this year sporting elaborate ring gear inspired by none other than DC Comics’ Nightwing.
Ricochet (real name Trevor Mann) wore a black bodysuit featuring designs mimicking armor and, more notably, an unmistakable blue, bird-like symbol across the chest paying homage to Batman’s former apprentice. The Future of Flight challenged AJ Styles for The Phenomenal One’s WWE United States Championship in what was ultimately a losing effort.
Fans of the character has hilarious, self deprecating responses.
Did the move lead him to victory? Well, not exactly. Styles’ cronies, Gallows and Anderson, distracted Ricochet enough for AJ to get the drop on him with a Styles Clash.
This was the first time Ricochet’s come to the ring in comic book superhero gear. I makes you wonder if he’ll wind up teaming with NXT’s Johnny Gargano when he gets called up to the main roster, as Gargano is known for debuting Marvel hero gear at PPVs. FOSTA-SESTA killed Tumblr. Since implementing the law’s requirements, the company was virtually moribund. In 2013, when Yahoo bought Tumblr they paid $1.1 billion. Today, Verizon sold it to WordPress for under $3 million.
Last year, both bills — the House bill known as FOSTA, the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, and the Senate bill, SESTA, the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act — have been hailed by advocates as a victory for sex trafficking victims were signed into law. Vox reported at the time: “the bills also poke a huge hole in a famous and longstanding “safe harbor” rule of the internet: Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act. Usually shorthanded as “Section 230” and generally seen as one of the most important pieces of internet legislation ever created, it holds that “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.” In other words, Section 230 has allowed the internet to thrive on user-generated content without holding platforms and ISPs responsible for whatever those users might create.”
But FOSTA-SESTA created an exception to Section 230 that means website publishers would be responsible if third parties are found to be posting ads for prostitution — including consensual sex work — on their platforms. The goal of this is supposed to be that policing online prostitution rings gets easier. What FOSTA-SESTA has actually done, however, is create confusion and immediate repercussions among a range of internet sites as they grapple with the ruling’s sweeping language.
