CNN State of the Union, host Jake Tapper, after rattling off statistics that show more than half Black Prostetant Christians disagree with gay marriage, jumped in and asked Pete Buttigieg point blank whether he thought this a factor that was holding him back among Black voters where his polls numbers are low, and could possibly preclude him from getting the nomination.

Buttigieg responded that he’s found that there’s a disconnect between Black voters and the Democratic Party as they feel they have often been used in the past and they want to see concrete policy and pointed to his Douglass Plan as an example.
