Chris Rock, who opened for comedian’s John Mulaney’s return to stand-up this week after a stint in rehab for alcohol and cocaine addiction, told Jimmy Kimmel that he was really good.

The 56-year-old Rock, whose  new movie Spiral: From the Book of Saw opens this weekend,  appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night. During their chat, Kimmel asked Rock about his recent live performances at comedy clubs around New York City, including the legendary Comedy Cellar. “I did some spots when they opened up,” Rock said.

He then added he’d opened for both Dave Chappelle and John Mulaney too. “I did a couple of things with Dave,” Chris continued. “I was with Mulaney last night—I opened for him last night.”

Jimmy asked how the show with Mulaney went, and Rock replied, “That went really good! It was really good.”

“People are showing up,” Chris despite the Coronavirus. Even quipping, “Every now and then, somebody dies. But we keep the show going.”

Mulaney made  headlines this week as he began his first live performances of 2021 with a string of sold-out shows this week at the City Winery in NYC. This followed his stint at a rehab facility in December 2020 to address addiction issues.

All four shows sold out, according to the venue’s website, although there is an option to sign up for the waiting list in case more tickets are released. Phones are not permitted during the performances, and proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or negative test is required for entry.

Earlier in the week, Mulaney’s team confirmed to Page Six that he and wife Anna Marie Tendler had ended their relationship after six years of marriage.

On Thursday, several media outlets reported that the star is currently dating actress Olivia Munn.
