Funny Tweets from Straight Guys for Mayor Pete #Str8Guys4PeteButtigieg

While Pete Buttigieg’s campaign for president as the first viable out, gay candidate has mobilized a lot of LGBT folks, it’s the straights that have the numbers ton put him in the Oval Office. With that in mind, we love the straight men who are for Mayor Pete and the way he’s flummoxed some for not fitting a preconceived notions of what gay is.

The most hilarious is definitely the first one featured here from Ryan Prominski whose handle is @realryanpro on Twitter, who wrote, “I’m a married, straight man. I will always be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. But last night I thought about the quality of back rub that  @PeteButtigiegcould throw down with those majestic hands, and, gentle reader, I blushed as deeply as I ever have.”

The second best was from a parody account called Wrath of Kahn based on the real life Khizr Khan. As you may recall, Donald Trump was openly hostile towards Kahn, whose son 27-year-old son, Humayun Khan, an Army captain, died in a car bombing in 2004 in Iraq as he tried to save other troops.

As the New York Times reported at the time, “Donald J. Trump belittled the parents of a slain Muslim soldier who had strongly denounced Mr. Trump during the Democratic National Convention, saying that the soldier’s father had delivered the entire speech because his mother was not “allowed” to speak. Mr. Trump’s comments, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News that will air on Sunday, drew quick and widespread condemnation and amplified calls for Republican leaders to distance themselves from their presidential nominee. With his implication that the soldier’s mother had not spoken because of female subservience expected in some traditional strains of Islam, his comments also inflamed his hostilities with American Muslims. Khizr Khan, the soldier’s father, lashed out at Mr. Trump in an interview on Saturday, saying his wife had not spoken at the convention because it was too painful for her to talk about her son’s death. Mr. Trump, he said, “is devoid of feeling the pain of a mother who has sacrificed her son.”

Wrath of Kahn said last spring, “Dear @PeteButtigieg– If you need someone to hold up a sign that reads, “Straight White Men for Pete” at your rallies, I’m your guy.”
