Seven of Nine, Riker, Data, Deanna Troi, and More Join Captain Picard on His New Mission: WATCH

Share

In a trailer that debuted today at Comic-Con International, we got a bigger look into the new upcoming series Star Trek: Picard. It suggests that the plot of the series features Picard dealing with ramifications of the destruction of the Romulan Empire, shown shortly before Spock created the divergent Kelvin Timeline, in the ninth installment of the Star Trek franchise that rebooted the series with Chris Pine playing Captain Kirk.

Among other things, actress Jeri Ryan returns as Seven of Nine a character she played on Star Trek: Voyager. We now know that not only will Data reappear, but he is central to the plot (and whose positronic brain appears to still be ticking), and a voice over that sounds suspiciously like actress Marina Sirtis, who played Commander Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Variety reported:

During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, it was revealed that Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Jeri Ryan would reprising their roles from Next Generation and Voyager in Ryan’s case. Jonathan Del Arco will also appear, likely reprising his role as the Borg Hugh from Next Generation.

Previously announced cast members include Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway.

The new series will see Stewart reprise the iconic role of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard. In a trailer played during the panel, fans saw Picard agreeing to help a young woman in danger who comes to him for help.
