A South Carolina mom was arrested for entering her son’s elementary school to confront the kids who’d been bullying her son.

Jamie Rathburn, told Fox 2 KTVU her child faced constant abuse.

KTVU reports: “The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Rathburn entered Greenbrier Elementary School without permission and began yelling at a class of third-grade students, pointing her finger in a threatening manner. Beth Brotherton, director of communications for the Greenville school district said that Rathburn had admitted she did not know who the bullies were, but Rathburn insists she did.”

Rathburn says, “He was told that he was ugly, that he was stupid, nobody cared, and he was called gay, he was cussed out, and when he reported those things he was told to ignore it.”

This happened during the same week a new study released by The Trevor Project Tuesday revealed that 39% of surveyed LGBT youth said they have “seriously considered” suicide in the past twelve months. The study, the inaugural National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, also found that more than half of the transgender youth surveyed “seriously considered” suicide.

The study is reportedly the largest survey ever conducted on the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth, including nearly 35,000 youth from across the nation between the ages of 13 and 24. The study was conducted online between February and September 2018.
