Former President Barack Obama received a hero’s welcome at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada last night. He was there to check out Game 2 of the NBA Finals, pitting the Golden State Warriors against the Toronto Raptors.

Obama even got an enthusiastic hug from the rapper Drake.

Obama entered Scotiabank Arena shortly before tipoff, strolling in with a sweet leather jacket and looking like a guy who is really going to enjoy watching what should be another great basketball game with lots on the line.

Here he is making his entrance:

One fan Tweeted:

When the Jumbotron focused on Obama, the entire stadium erupted into celebration, chanting “MVP, MVP” and gave the former president a standing ovation.

According to People magazine:

The former president spent the whole weekend in Canada, meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at an Ottawa brewery on Friday.

Although many were expecting Trudeau, 47, to arrive alongside Obama at the game, the Prime Minister opted not to make an appearance.
