Franko Stevens is a multi-hyphenate performer who is a working actor in Hollywood.
His big dream? Performing on SNL.
To that end Stevens believes that his improv training at the UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) and the Groundlings, both troupes that boast a bevy of SNL alum, as well as his commercial advertising work — have prepared him to perform with the vaunted comedy ensemble.
Formally educated as an engineer with an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, the Pittsburgh native’s energy is infectious.
Stevens, who was a regular of the sketch comedy group at The PIT NYC called the “Apple Genius Bar”, has proved he’s already adept as a part of a dedicated comedic ensemble.
Noting that working in entertainment can be peripatetic, Stevens keeps disciplined and focused by constantly improving and honing his craft while working in production, in addition to acting and auditioning on a nearly daily basis.
His biggest motivator is the thrill of working. Steven says that, “the freedom of expressing myself in improvisational, unscripted comedy allows me to be able to create personalities and new characters on the spot — my dream.”
Stevens’ advice for other young bourgeoning talented superstars navigating Hollywood? “Always be willing to change,” he says, “Never be scared to evolve as an artist, as long as you maintain true to the spirit of what inspired you to pursue your dream in the first place.”
And he adds, “Always make sure you are enjoying the journey instead of dwelling on obtaining the goal.”
