Major’s Monday Motivation

Share

A note on Pride and your #modaymotivation from DeMarco Majors.

A note on Pride:

Throughout our lives we fought to stay alive. We fought to be free and live as though we have it all together. When we were kids we may have been a little bit different and because of those differences we were harmed, hurt, sometimes given less…. when all we asked for is what we see you have and that’s to love freely.

Just to have the rights as a human being without fear or shame. When we were picked on and teased, bullied and felt no one would or even love us… you were not there with signs and chants to help us.

Now, we have an event in every city so that we can know there are people like us… we are not alone.

We can love freely without condemnation. Yet you picket, you rally with signs at the biggest festival we have to spread hate yet have the nerve to say we are going to hell. You stand and yell fags will burn in hell but you haven’t taken a strong look at what you have going on in your life because you are more concerned about what others are doing so that the microscope isn’t on you.

Who are you to judge and why is it ok for you to play God. Let God deal with his children the way he sees fit. We come together in love just as you have events where u gather in love yet you don’t see us with signs condemning the way you love or whatever your issue. Stop turning people away from God because you found something that gives you a sense of belonging. Everything doesn’t work the same for each person. We all come to an understanding and love when it is time. Don’t rush peoples opportunities to love and grow. Also, when see someone with a flag doesn’t mean they are nasty or even gay but they are loving, respectful of human life. Respect our spaces just as we respect yours.

#MotivationMonday

The ego gets addicted to whatever strengthens it. Negative thinking is a stronger energy charge. That’s why our thoughts turn against us making different thoughts into an enemy so that it can feed on the energy to stay alive. The ego gets addicted what ever strengthens it.

If you haven’t yet defined your own destiny then you will always repeat your past.

“Everyday is a chance to start anew.” DeMarco Majors.

Majors is a personal and life coach. Beginning in his senior year in college, he got the opportunity to play ball professionally — in Argentina. He jumped at the chance and eventually played in Australia, Brazil, and in Hawaii (in the American Basketball Association). He came out along the way, becoming one of a few publicly out gay pro basketball players in the world, and garnering a spot on the 2007 Out 100 list.

He’s since become a model and actor, starring first in the Logo reality show Shirts & Skins (about the all-gay basketball team The Rock Dogs), then in the stage adaptation of James Earl Hardy’s bestselling novel B-Boy Blues, directed by Stanley Bennett Clay. He was also the male lead in Beyoncé’s “Freakum Dress” video and had guest spots on Law & Order and Blue Bloods. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and stars in the forthcoming film, 7.
