+Life, is a new weekly half-hour lifestyle program, premiering nationally July 12, on ABC’s Localish network, Hosted by entertainment reporter and ABC7 Los Angeles’ On the Red Carpet correspondent Karl Schmid, +Life is focused on encouraging viewers to live their best lives and will feature topical interviews and celebrity guests — including Fran Drescher, Judith Light, Melissa Rivers and Moby, as well as tips and trends from experts in fitness, health and wellness, food, fashion, beauty and more.
“The +Life television series is all about finding unexpected ways to live life to the fullest, which is more important than ever before,” Schmid told #GayNrd. “Each episode will entertain, inspire and uplift our viewers, with easy takeaway and fun ideas for anyone to make their days a little brighter.”
The premiere episode of +Life welcomes Andrew Bell, lead singer of Erasure, who gets real about making music, living life and overcoming challenges. Then, personal trainer and comedian Marvin Telp does a virtual workout with +Life fitness expert Raif Derazzi, while +Life medical expert Dr. Anu Seshadri brings us Shelly Lorusso, the founder of The Olivia Hope Foundation, about its fight to end childhood cancer. Finally, Ted Torres from Chef Wanted shows how to prepare pan-seared branzino with roasted asparagus and sweet plantains.
Leading up to the premier, Schmid has been covering this year’s virtual International AIDS Society conference (#AIDS2020) where he interviewed the indomitable Billy Porter. You can watch the interview on YouTube below.
