PRESENTING HIS THIGHNESS William, Prince of Whales, according to Entertainment Tonight, “After viewing the Hold Still photography exhibition that documented the quarantine lives of many around the United Kingdom, William was photographed looking through the window of a local KFC near Waterloo Station in London.”

Of course, KFC couldn’t pass up this excellent marketing opportunity and posted the image to their U.K. and Ireland social media accounts:

His Thighness it is!

IN OTHER ROYAL NEWS Drag Queen and nightlife impresario Kareem McJagger is featured in TenZ magazine where he wrote about his experiences since the pandemic and quarantine and shutdowns began, “Late June of 2020 was a tough time for me. Covid had closed the bars in NYC where I’d worked in for years. Things were getting tense with my roommates, which made it significantly tougher to produce content from home. Between the peak of violence at Black Lives Matter protests and the local and national chaos around the pandemic, my anxiety was at an all-time high. I had more trouble focusing on tasks than I’d ever had in my life.”

He continues, “My boyfriend, Jack Aaronson, lives and works in the Fire Island Pines every summer, and we decided to give living together a shot for the abridged season. Normally, he’d be Airbnb-ing the other bedrooms in the small house he rents, but we agreed that it wasn’t worth the risk to rent to random people. The house’s pool wasn’t heated, so Jack bought a solar pool cover a couple of weeks after my arrival in early July, which ended up being far too large. Of course, my first thought upon seeing the yards upon yards of excess colorful material was to make a look out of it! I immediately thought of my nightlife sister Ronie Reives (aka Viki Villainess) who had made my performance look at the 2019 Glam Awards. I’d been listening to The Shade Parade podcast, which Ronie hosts with fellow NYC drag queen Ari Kiki. One of the remarkable things about their weekly conversations was the contrast between how much Ari was going out and being social (mostly outdoors) and Ronie was staying more isolated, which made me feel safe about inviting him to stay with us. So I hit Ronie up and asked if he’d be up for a casual unconventional materials challenge in The Pines for a few days. He happily agreed.”

McJagger concludes, “All of these spectacular artistic productions and more happened on Fire Island in the midst of a global pandemic! We found ways to take precautions, collaborate safely, and express ourselves in ways we never thought we’d have to. And the content that creators are making is as integral to our wellbeing as it is to the audiences who consume them.”

TOP TWEET OF THE WEEK  #1

BIG MOOD We’ll have what she’s having. Michael Burnham is hit with with a powerful truth drug by her Orion and Andorian captors in the hysterical sequence in the season three premiere of Star Trek: Discovery.

TRUMP DUMP Unhappy with the interview he did with 60 Minutes‘ correspondent Lesley Stahl that will air Sunday, President Trump released the full video on Twitter Thursday morning. Trump tweeted, “Watch her constant interruptions & anger. Compare my full, flowing and ‘magnificently brilliant’ answers to their ‘Q’s.'”

Before cutting off the interview and steaming out at the end Trump said, “When you started with me, your first statement was ‘Are you ready for tough questions?’ That’s no way to talk.”

According to Towleroad, “Trump was rankled by and defensive of Lesley Stahl’s questioning about coronavirus and suburban women from the outset of the interview because she continued to fact check him throughout. He also whined throughout that Stahl would not ask questions like these to Joe Biden.”

ART AND COMMERCE #ArtistsMood

TRAILER OF THE DAY Ryan Murphy’s Netflix adaptation of Broadway’s The Prom directed by Murphy from a script by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, is set to debut on December 11.

The synopsis: “Dee Dee Allen (Meryl Streep) and Barry Glickman (James Corden) are New York City stage stars with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers. Meanwhile, in small-town Indiana, high school student Emma Nolan (newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman) is experiencing a very different kind of heartbreak: despite the support of the high school principal (Keegan-Michael Key), the head of the PTA (Kerry Washington) has banned her from attending the prom with her girlfriend, Alyssa (Ariana DeBose). When Dee Dee and Barry decide that Emma’s predicament is the perfect cause to help resurrect their public images, they hit the road with Angie (Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman) and Trent (Andrew Rannells), another pair of cynical actors looking for a professional lift. But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.”

DUELING TREK DIVAS Marina Sirtis aka Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Commander Deanna Troi has blocked Kirstie Alley on Twitter. Alley, whose first big role was a Spock’s half Vulcan/half Romulan protege in 1982’s Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, has been an avid Trump thumper.

TWEET OF THE DAY #2 And most aren’t even tops either!
