‘Higher Love’ Seeks to Elevate the Conversations We’re Having

Higher Love is a weekly Facebook Live simulcast that addresses different topics every week that pays respect to our differences while building bridges that allow us to see our common bonds and communicate about difficult topics in safe spaces. We create content to break down fear and trauma, to uproot the strongholds that have made us victims to our pain, and to inspire our individual and collective healing.
Founded by DeMarco Majors and Ronnie Kroell, according to Majors, the core values of Higher Love are, “Respect, solutions, listening, safety, authenticity, and solutions.”
Recently Majors commented on the #Megxit “scandal” with the announcement that the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “leaving” the Royal family. Majors said of Markle’s decision:
Imagine being a women. Falling in love with someone so deeply that you never imagined this kind of love. Imagine the family you married into is overtly racist. As a little girl you had a dream wedding in mind and husband but the families view of you isn’t about you it’s about the race you represent and the stereotypes they believe. Think about all the people associated with the family and your marriage being so public that you’re consistently being bombarded with press and racism from people all over the world.
Imagine being a little boy and your mom constantly living in fear. Being loved all over the world except by the family she married into. You watched your mom constantly and consistently try to raise awareness of what is happening to her. Then your mother is targeted and killed! That little boy becomes so traumatized that he decides that will never happen to my wife.
Then imagine getting married and having a family of your own and millions of people around the world are treating your wife the same way you seen your mother being treated.
Harry decision to protect his family from the evils of racism and potential harm because of racist idiots are destructive. The amount of hatred and harm and the energy of that is effecting a women with children yet Some women are bashing this women and know nothing about her or there decision to remove themselves. It’s sad how racist this world is especially when children are involved. Many of you who have something negative to say about megan could never deal with the tabloids, media outlets and constant negative things that have been published about her. Millions of people, magazines, Facebook post on social media and it will always live on the internet. As a women how could any women show hatred for another mother when you know how hard it is to raise a child in todays climate. How could you as a man be so destructive to a women period.
Regardless of what is funny or not the children will be affected by this and the parents already have enough to deal with in regards to the family. Why would anyone want to cause more harm to a painful situation?
The New York Times underscored what Major’s says in Op-Ed by
She continued, “From the very first headline about her being “(almost) straight outta Compton” and having “exotic” DNA, the racist treatment of Meghan has been impossible to ignore. Princess Michael of Kent wore an overtly racist brooch in the duchess’s company. A BBC host compared the couple’s newborn baby to a chimpanzee. Then there was the sublimely ludicrous suggestion that Meghan’s avocado consumption is responsible for mass murder, while her charity cookbook was portrayed as somehow helping terrorists.”
Her treatment has proved what many of us have always known: No matter how beautiful you are, whom you marry, what palaces you occupy, charities you support, how faithful you are, how much money you accumulate or what good deeds you perform, in this society racism will still follow you.
